This was my second collaboration with Sara. Beyond the challenge of showing restraint in tackling such a morally complex and emotionally charged story, we also faced the task of capturing life in New York City in the weeks and months following 9/11. While 2001 may not seem so far in the past, the absence of smartphones, Citibikes, LED billboards, and even the types of cars on the streets made us approach Worth as a period film.
